SAFFLOWER OIL

Safflower oil ia made from the seeds of the safflower plant (Carthamus tinctorius L.), which was cultivated in the Middle Ages to produce a yellow-red colorant. Today, the safflower plants are cultivated almost exclusively for the production of edible oil. The fruit is a wedge-shaped kernel with a thick skin and an oil content of about 30%. The main protein of the seeds is carmine. The origin of the plant is not exactly known. Today the main producing countries are India, Mexico and California (USA).

FRYING OIL

n close cooperation with the Münster University of Applied Sciences (Department of Oecotrophology), we have developped this special frying oil. Based on purely vegetable ingredients, this oil from the BRÖLIO family meets both the nutritional aspects and the special requirements of modern industrial deep-frying lines and deep-fryers.

The special recipe, which offers a balanced fatty acid spectrum and thus follows the latest recommendations of the DGE, not only ensures high heat stability and long usability, but also good digestibility due to the reduced fat absorption of the food. The proportion of trans fatty acids is many times lower (less than 1%) compared to the hardened fats/oils frequently used and thus also contributes to a physiological enhancement. The taste of the prepared fried foods is not affected by the gently refined oil. Due to the high smoke point of the oil, no unpleasant odours are produced. The frying oil is always liquid, a time-consuming melting before use is therefore not necessary and also the disposal after use is more than easy.

VEGETABLE OIL

Vegetable oil in modern understanding is mostly rapeseed oil (see above). Only a few years ago, soybean oil, which is obtained from the soybean, was still distributed under this name. Almost the entire world demand is covered by the USA and also more and more by Brazil. Due to the GMO problem (genetically modified organisms), this oil is not very popular in Germany.

RAPESEED OIL -VLOG- ( cold-pressed)

Our cold-pressed rapeseed oil is made from local seeds only. The “without genetic engineering” certified rapeseed is peeled and only the yellow kernel is pressed. That‘s why our rapeseed oil has a slightly nutty taste and is rich in vitamin E. It is used in the warm and mainly in the cold kitchen and enriches dressings and sauces.

RAPESEED OIL

Rapeseed oil is produced from rapeseed (brassica compestris). The yellow rapeseed fields flowering in May are known to all. In Northern Europe rape is the most common oilseed. In Germany about 5 million tons are harvested annually. Rape (Brassica napus L. ssp. oleifera) is cultivated in Europe as summer and winter rape. Rape is the most important oil plant of all temperate zones of the earth. The oil content of the black seeds may vary around 40%.

SUNFLOWER OIL

Sunflower oil is produced from the well-known sunflower seeds, which contain 40-60% oil. It is a very popular edible oil. The main production areas are South-Eastern Europe, the USA, Argentina and France. The first sunflowers (Helianthus annus) were imported from North America to Europe in 1596. It was around the year1830 when a Russian farmer from the village of Alexierka came up with the idea of pressing oil from sunflower seeds, thus creating an important oil milling industry.
